Hello Ocean Activists!
You may not have heard, but Adidas and Parley for the Oceans have partnered with a soccer club across the pond. This summer on their US tour, Manchester United F.C. will debut their brand-new uniforms made from recycled ocean plastic!
The new uniform is a royal blue color, the same color the Club wore 50 years ago when it became the first English team to win the European Cup. All around its inner neckline, “For the Oceans” is written.
Adidas and Parley for the Oceans have collaborated since 2015, creating sneakers and swimsuits from recycled ocean plastic. Just this past Earth Day, they outfitted all 23 Major League Soccer teams in Parley Ocean Plastic! This relationship has influenced Adidas to commit to using recycled ocean plastic in all its sportswear by 2024.
As you know, I’m an avid soccer fan, and I can’t wait to see what that kit looks like in action this summer!
