The ocean is made of saltwater. This salt comes from the rocks on land that gets swept into the ocean. The ocean is more salty in tropical areas because the Sun evaporates more of the water there leaving more salt in the ocean. There are more historic artifacts under the sea than in all of the world’s museums. Underwater museums have been created in recent years, including the Mediterranean’s submerged bronze statue, Christ of the Abyss.
