Kelp Crab in seaweed

Have you ever seen a spider-looking creature scurrying in the tides of the shore? Well, chances are you’ve seen a crab!  Unlike humans, crabs have something called an exoskeleton, meaning their skeletons are on the outside of their skin!  Like most sea creatures, crabs can swim but did you know they can swim sideways and walk on land?  With tastebuds on their feet, crabs eat both meat and plants making them what we call omnivores. The average life of a crab may be short, lasting up to 3 to 4 years, but don’t worry because there are over 4,500 species of them!
